OGDS

Today, went to endoscopy unit at HUSM since my brother has been complaining stomach pain for the past one month. Done as emergency case since he will be leaving for Gallway in early Sept. And also, to give my parent some peace in their minds before letting him go 13 hours awaaaaay from us. Ehehee.

So, I asked him how was the pain. Stabbing ke, continuous ke, intensity, bla bla bla. *budget laa tau* "Well, it feels like senggugut..." Ahhaaa, seriuosly dude.....as if awak tuh penah rase senggugut.

Accompanying him there were my elder brother (insyaAllah, he + his wife are applying to be staff there) and me, myself, medico-yg-budget-enthusiast. It was a nice experience for me to see live Oesophago-Gastric-Duodeno-Scopy (OGDS). That's quite mouthful to say :). Ala-ala mcm appetizer before going for clinical phase. Unfortunately for my brother, it was quite a nitemare kot. Just imagine, if putting something at the back of your throat pun can stimulate ur gag reflex. Apatah lg, when u insert a tube down into ur stomach. Perghh, termuntah2 laa die tadi.

Starting the procedure. Pulse oxymetry was placed at his thumb.
Then, nurse bagi LA at the back of his throat. (tp mcm xde beza pn, ahaha)
The procedure was really simple. Like 5-10 mins je pn.

Dr said, it's better for him to be concious during the procedure (yela, kan byk kerja plak klau nk bagi GA).
And it will be a 'great' experience for him. Pastu Dr tuh gelak besar. Ahaha.

The doctor herself was very friendly and nice. Sempoi plak tuh. She reminds me a lot to Dr Syahrina. Siyeees, teringin nak jd student die. :)

Did the tissue biopsy too to check for H.pylori
So, all the time during the procedure, my thots were racing intensely to remember back the lectures; Gastritis, H.pylori, peptic ulcer, flat-edged ulcer, heaped-up border ulcer, which one is pre-maglinant and yada yada. Ohh, how I miss patho laaa (and the lecturers as well). ahaha. :)

Finally, the result of it...

Lighting xcanteek

Take ur attention to the pic on the left side of 2nd row. If you notice, the mucosal layer of the gastric is granulated and there are a few bleeding spots. And the pic above it, is actually the vocal cords. The mucosal layer around it is swollen. Most probably due to acid reflux.

The diagnosis isssss....

As expected la, pan-gastritis. 'Pan' because tgk2 the whole stomach part dh inflamed.
No wonder la the pain is excruciating smpai xleh nk wat ape2 klau sakit.

Doc-yg-baik+comel prescribed him with Pantoprazole (sblum ni asyk pnggil controloc je, xtau la plak ubat ni PPI rupe nye), antacid and tramadol for painkiller.

Konklusinya, (ahaa, poyo je), be grateful and say ALHAMDULILLAH that Allah has blessed us with wonderful stomach. With the potent acidity of its content, Allah has created so many ways to protect it from corroding other structures. Hopefully, the resultant pain is to cleanse our sins and to make us ponder more on His creations. :)

P.s. Trivia! ehehe. Skrang kaan tgh puasa....

So, like after being sprayed with LA at the back of the throat, inserted with the tube + gel around it, poured water into the stomach after the biopsy and muntah2 at end...

Apa agaknye hukum puasa? :) jeng jeng jeng.

A Sharing :)

Ohh, post dari Ust Hasrizal kali ini mmg awesome sgt and kena pada tempat + masa nya. :

Btw, love this quote :)

I want God to bless this team so much people will talk about what He did. But it means we gotta give Him our best in every area. And if we win, we praise Him. And if we lose, we praise Him. Either way we honor Him with our actions and our attitudes. So I’m askin’ you… What are you living for? I resolve to give God everything I’ve got, then I’ll leave the results up to Him. I want to know if you’ll join me. – Grant Taylor, Facing the Giants (2006)

Isn't that what Allah has told us?

For whatever situation we are in,

The things that happen,

Plan Allah itu sentiasa terbaik. Terbaaaaik!

No matter how inconvenience it is to us. Huuu.

Ramadhan! 2 :)

Alhamdulillah. It's Ramadhan the 8th now. So, how's the ramadhan checklist? It's almost the end of the first ten. Ehehe, am still able to keep the tilawah pace. Huumpph, terawikh + qiam, on the other hand, have its up and down. Huuu.

Doing qiam alone really needs a strong mujahadah. Tgk bantal, katil kat sebelah mmg tempting nak sambung balik mimpi2 indah. That's why I think it's better for me to do it at the mosque (klau kat Kelantan, ade qaryah ramadhan :)). Although when compared it to terawikh, the sof for qiam ade sebaris je, tp alhamdulillah, these people are the chosen one utk bangun bermunajat cinta pada Dia :).

Bila ramai-ramai, rasa motivasi nak buat lebih skit drpd sorang2. Tgk plak mak cik kat sebelah, dgn kerusi segala bagai, sanggup lg bangun qiam (wuhuu, headshot utk diri sendiri yg cukup sifat ni!).

Btw, klau nak pegi qiam kat masjid tu, ehehe, switch off la dulu alarm. Nnt abees potong steam jemaah laain. Ahahaha. Solat sendiri pn xkhusyu' duk fikir strategy nk off kan alarm.

Well, not much to be told for the ramadhan diary thingy. Ehehe. Ramadhan kareeem again!

'Combat kit' - Ahmad Deedat. Among the reading list this hols.
Huuu, yg pasti, the top one tu kena know by heart.  :)

P.s. [nota kaki yg xseberapa]

I was in a heated argument with my brother regarding ikhtilat. He's sort of stricter than me in term of muamalah between different gender. To the extent, even girls tnye soalan regarding study pn die xnak layan. Put up a few arguments with him, and he ended it saying, "Bila kita berusaha utk elak, byk lg jalan lain yg Allah akan bukakan". Although, I didn't really agree on his reaction but I do get his point. Sometimes, I was a bit lenient on this issue. Xstrict sgt and maybe ter'cross' the boundaries quite a few times. Time to audit myself. Bukan nak budget baik sgt or nk jual mahal ke ape. Let there be no barrier between me and Him. Sometimes, small things can burden us. Nak ibadah pn  mcm payah nak fokus. Na'uzubillah.

Islam gives u the guidelines. u know ur limit, so, u draw the lines urself.

p.s.s Urrghh, rindu H, CBTians, BR n BG Gen05. Perlukan booster dari kamu semua...huuu.

Home for Good

When this house is beginning to shrink its number of occupants, comes this lively little voice; adding more gaiety in this month of barakah.

They are home for good. :)

Welcome home, big bro, Sis Hanis + Sakinah.
